The Helander Studio
Bruce Helander is considered one of the most successful and recognized artists in South Florida. Helander’s work is represented in more than 50 permanent museum collections, including the Guggenheim, the Whitney, Brooklyn Museum, Albright-Knox and The Met. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship, New York Foundation for the Arts grant, Lifetime Achievement Award from Art Miami, and the Key to the City of West Palm Beach, is a member of the Florida Artists Hall of Fame and a former White House Fellow of the National Endowment for the Arts. He received a master’s degree in painting from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, where later he was Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Helander has been represented by top New York galleries, including Marisa del Re and O.K. Harris. He also is an independent curator of numerous museum exhibitions and is a published art critic for The Huffington Post. His most recent books are “Chihuly: An Artist Collects” (Abrams) and “Hunt Slonem – Bunnies” (Glitterati). Helander will have a career survey of his work at the Coral Springs Museum of Art in 2021.
