Timothy Yarger Fine Art and Yarger Projects
"It's All About Light"
About the Exhibition:
The idea of light and how it is represented, reflected, generated or captured, how it can affectour environment and how it is perceived by viewers has been the subject of inquiry throughoutArt History and is eternally fascinating.
This exhibition is a survey representing 2 generations, from 3 continents, by 4 artists, exploringthe illusive, temporal, essential qualities and affects of light.
Laddie John Dill, (California) a founding member of Light and Space Movement, employsunconventional materials of neon and aluminum, to trap light and create unexpectedambience.
Ruth Pastine, (New York) uses conventional tools of canvas and pigment to investigate theperception of color in the context of light to achieve sublime radiance.
Mads Christensen, (Copenhagen) harvests tools of technology and light as the medium, achieves sensations of visual pleasure, quiet contemplation, and palpable wonder.
Pancho Luna, (Buenos Aires) transforms the familiar into the unexpected, while capturingimagery through his photographic lens and then allows it to disappear.
Perception is everything ...
Especially in the vast considerations of its relationship to light.
Emotion is conveyed magically through the weightlessness and movement of light.
Color is not in the light itself, it is perceived consciously and unconsciously.
